I am fairly new to the uses of essential oils. I’m having a lot of fun discovering the different uses that they can be put to. I am amazed at the wide range of uses they possess. I am equally amazed at the health benefits that they can provide.
I was excited to try out bergamot oil as it has been shown to help with depression. It is both an anti-depressant and a stimulant. Fatigue and listlessness are common in those that suffer depression. I am no exception. I wanted to try this oil for this reason.
When I received it, I opened the bottle and thought, ooh, this has a nice citrusy smell. The scent alone made me feel perkier. I then used it in my oil diffuser to get the scent into the air. I’m happy to say that this smelled fabulous and is now one of my favorites to use in the diffuser.
I also tried it mixed with several other oils and massaged onto my sore muscles. I have a co-existing illness of fibromyalgia and suffer with a lot of soreness in my joints and muscles. I thought that the stimulating smell of the bergamot would add to the relief I would feel from the oils that are specifically for sore muscles.
I don’t know if it did any good for my mood, but I can tell it you that it contributed a nice scent to the massage oil I assembled. This by itself is a bonus, as many treatments for sore muscles have a distinct medicine smell and this one didn’t.
I am very happy with the quality and smell of this oil. It is definitely going to become one of my must-have oils.
