I am always on the lookout for ways to enhance my meditation practice. I’ve recently begun using an essential oil diffuser with lights. Both the scent and the lights help with my breathing and focus. I sometimes use a candle since the flickering light also helps with focus and concentration. Occasionally, I listen to a guided meditations. But I really want to up my meditation game and have complete quiet while meditating.
Using a singing bowl has been helpful in achieving this quiet meditation. It gives off a rich vibrational sound that helps me to focus on my meditation and relax. According to Tibetan monks, this type of instrument gives off a vibration that helps your brain activity get into a meditative state. Now, I’m not a scientist and I don’t have the equipment to test this theory in full. But, what I can tell you is that it has been helpful in my slow progress toward quiet meditation.
Now, I’d like to find the space for a dedicated meditation area, where I can put all the tools I use for meditation. Including a meditation pillow and my singing bowl onto a low table or stand. This would make my meditation practice even less stressful, as I wouldn’t have to keep moving things around when I want to meditate.
This is an interesting addition to my meditation arsenal and I look forward to incorporating it into my meditation sessions more and more as I grow.
